“Blücher” – Napoleonic Campaigns

This is where the club will list and link our campaign designs covering the Napoleonic Wars.

While ostensibly written for use with the fantastic set of rules “Blücher” by Sam Mustafa, they can be used for any ruleset with some adaptation.

This page will be updated as we expand our offerings.

Overview

Campaign Rules

The club have been running campaign games for several years now and during our games a “standard” set of series rules, governing how our campaigns are played, has evolved.

These “standard” rules are the core of the campaign games we play; however each campaign offering needs its own set of specific set of “campaign rules” providing guidance on how they should be applied for that campaign and detailing the specifics for each offering.

The “campaign rules” have a fairly standard content including:

  • The Campaign Map
  • The Playing Units & Leaders
  • The Campaign Turn
  • Recconaissance
  • Movement
  • Conducting a Battle
  • Seiges
  • Supply
  • Victory Conditions

While we feel the rules are well written (and have been extensivley playtested over a number of years), they are there only for the guidance of others as to how we, as a club, conduct our campaigns. They should not be seen as a set of commandments that dictate what should be done in each and every situation.

Players & umpires will be called upon to use common sense and best judgement on how to apply them to their campaigns and how to solve situations that we have not encountered and therefor not accounted for.

The campaign rules will always be offered up for dowload free (from this site) as they use far too many ideas pulled together from other sources for us for us to claim that they are ours. It also means that we can’t have folks complaining to us that they’ve wasted their hard earned cash and badgering us to re-write something that they don’t like (that said we are always open to constructive criticism and input from the wargaming community – just be nice when providing it!!)

(Note: nothing in the rules we provide is not available for download for free on the internet and we do not infringe on anyones copyright in waht we produce)

Campaign Breifing Packs

These are where the main effort of the club has been spent with each pack containing:

  • An introduction to the Campaign
  • A Campaign Calendar
  • Campaign Notes (specific to each side) detailing:
    • Special Rules (applicable to their armies)
    • Army Break Points
    • Supply Depots
  • Dispositions
  • Detailed Orders of Battle
  • Army Unit Rosters (detailing each “Blucher” unit and for recording their status throughout the campaign)
  • Campaign Maps (overview and detailed printable maps)
  • Campaign “Blocks” (for use during the strategic moves on the campaign maps)
  • Blucher Unit Cards (for every single unit on the Order of Battle)

Due to the number of hours of research, graphic design, writing, reviewing, editing, playtesting that has gone into creating the campaign files, the club are offering these for purchase via our “Buy Me a Coffee” page (for what we consider a reasonable fee).
